God’s promises are not about control, but opportunity. They are currency you can count on. Because of who He is, God is able to fulfill the promises He has made. 2 Peter 1:4 (NLT) tells us, “And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” And in Isaiah 40, we read, “He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” What God has for you is for you. You won’t need to beg, borrow, steal, lie, sleep with anyone, sneak around, or cry for it. Just be patient. When life is tough in unexpected ways, we will continue to trust that God is still working.
