So how do we live in gratitude? God gave us minds to think and hearts to be thankful (Colossians 3:15-16). Gratitude should never be silent. Happiness is like a sugar high for some. It can come and go quickly. Joy is sustainable. Gratitude ignites joy and sustains joy. The opposite of gratitude is bitterness. Bitterness allows pain to live longer. Gratitude begins where our sense of entitlement ends. Gratitude is like fertilizer – sometimes it stinks to do it but when you do you grow and so do others.
