Until you make your life your own, you’re walking in borrowed clothes. Leaders, whatever their field, are made up as much of their experiences as their skills, like everyone else. Unlike everyone else, they use their experiences rather than being used by it. Psalm 139:13-16 says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” “Experience is not what happens to a man, but what a man does with what happens to him.” (Aldous Huxley) We all have struggles in vocation, relationship and health, but Christ is on top of it all. He is in control of it all. Discover more in this teaching by Pastor Joel Pagett.
