“Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.'” (Luke 2:13-14 NLT) “Peace” is an interesting word. In order to have peace, there needs to be reconciliation. First, we need peace with God. “For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.” (Romans 5:10 NLT) We get peace with God by the restoration that happened when Jesus died for us. “Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.” Then we need the peace of God, and peace with other people.
