“Listen! A farmer went out to plant some seed. As he scattered it across his field, some of the seed fell on a footpath, and the birds came and ate it. Other seed fell on shallow soil with underlying rock. The seed sprouted quickly because the soil was shallow. But the plant soon wilted under the hot sun, and since it didn’t have deep roots, it died.” (Mark 4:3-6 NLT) Rocky ground is where hardness has taken place. Sometimes hard places happen because of our disappointment with God. Sometime hard times impede what God wants to do in our lives because we’re stuck instead of living in the freedom He gives us. But God wants to sculpt us in our brokenness into a new creation. Brokenness left unchecked will lead to bitterness. Bitterness will rob you of your future. (Bishop Dale C. Bronner) It all comes down to our perception. Hope. Victory can come from those stones. “For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” (Zephaniah 3:17 NLT) “And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15 NLT) “And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” (Colossians 2:6-7 NLT) Discover more in this teaching by Pastor Joel Pagett…
