We are trained to expect the worst for the unexpected. But what if we expected the best? “I have declared the former things from of old; yea, they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed them: suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.” (Isaiah 48:3 ASV) We need to shift our thinking, but things get in the way: We don’t feel qualified or we underestimate what God is willing to do. We should choose not to be someone’s project. “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” (James 1:5 NLT) Let’s put action to expectation. “Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, ‘I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!'” (Luke 19:8 NLT)
