Garbage tends to build up around us and we have a hard time getting through it. We have to fight through some bad days to earn the best days of our life. A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash. Proverbs 15:14 NLT

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:6-8 NLT

Prayer changes us. The battles that drag us down are in our mind. Peace follows prayer and helps us focus on good thinking. And that changes our perspective. The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity. Luke 8:14 NLT
